Evolutionnary studies of the dog

The role of selection in dog breed creation:

• Dogs are the most phenotypically diverse mammal. The origin of their huge genetic variation and genetic factors that control it remain largely unknown. By comparing patterns of genetic variation between dog breeds, we are investigating the role of artificial selection in generating the genetic diversity present in modern dogs.
